Things to Do in Northwest Arkansas: Oct. 19–Nov. 7, 2026 (Comedy Fest, Halloween & More)

Fall is one of the best times of year to live in Northwest Arkansas. The Ozarks are showing their colors, the trails are cool enough to enjoy, and the calendar is full of festivals, comedy, and Halloween fun from Bella Vista to Fayetteville. Whether you’ve lived here for years or you’re thinking about moving to NWA, here’s what’s happening over the next few weeks.

This Week Around NWA (Oct. 20–24)

  • Back 40 Birthday Bash – Bella Vista, Thu., Oct. 22. Celebrating 10 years of the Back 40 Trails, one of the reasons NWA is known as a mountain biking destination.

Big Diamond Comedy Festival (Oct. 22–24)

Downtown Bentonville hosts three days of comedy shows at venues around the square (via Axios NW Arkansas). It’s a great excuse to make a night of it with dinner downtown first.

NWA Real Estate Snapshot

NWA housing market snapshot August 2026: Benton County median $363,000, Washington County median $398,450

The latest ArkansasONE MLS figures (August 2026, as reported by NWALook) show a market that’s cooling in volume but still holding value, and the story depends on which county you’re in:

  • Benton County: median sold price $363,000 (down 7.7% year over year); median days on market rose from 19 to 29.
  • Washington County: median sold price $398,450 (up 9.6%); homes sold in a median of 18 days.
  • Combined sales across both counties were 851, down about 9% from August 2025.

What it means: Buyers in Benton County have more time and more room to negotiate than they did a year ago. In Washington County, well-priced homes are still moving fast. Sellers in either county should price carefully from day one. Curious what your home is worth? Get a free market value estimate.

Our Picks for the Next Few Weeks

  • For families: Farmington Fall Fest on Saturday morning, then a costume-friendly Halloween event in your town.
  • For a date night: Dinner on the Bentonville square, then a Big Diamond comedy show. Or head to Dickson Street in Fayetteville for Halloween weekend.
  • For the outdoorsy: Ride the Back 40 during its birthday week, or take a fall paddle on Lake Avalon or Beaver Lake while the leaves are turning.
  • If you’re house hunting: Spend a weekend at events in different towns. It’s the best way to feel the difference between Bentonville, Rogers, Fayetteville, and Bella Vista. Then browse homes for sale.
